Surah Mulk Audio and Text
Surah Mulk is the 67th Surah of the Quran and consists of 30 verses. The word Mulk is translated as ‘sovereignty’, and as the name implies, Surah Mulk discusses the power of Allah SWT over the entire universe. The Surah makes references to Allah’s power over nature, death, and life, and punishment for disbelievers. Reciting and listening to Surah Mulk will protect one from the punishment of Allah SWT and protect on in the grave and in the afterlife.

| بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِیْ بِیَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ٘- وَ هُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرُﰳ(1) الَّذِیْ خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَ الْحَیٰوةَ لِیَبْلُوَكُمْ اَیُّكُمْ اَحْسَنُ عَمَلًاؕ-وَ هُوَ الْعَزِیْزُ الْغَفُوْرُ(2) الَّذِیْ خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمٰوٰتٍ طِبَاقًاؕ-مَا تَرٰى فِیْ خَلْقِ الرَّحْمٰنِ مِنْ تَفٰوُتٍؕ-فَارْجِـعِ الْبَصَرَۙ-هَلْ تَرٰى مِنْ فُطُوْرٍ(3) ثُمَّ ارْجِـعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَیْنِ یَنْقَلِبْ اِلَیْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَّ هُوَ حَسِیْرٌ(4) وَ لَقَدْ زَیَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنْیَا بِمَصَابِیْحَ وَ جَعَلْنٰهَا رُجُوْمًا لِّلشَّیٰطِیْنِ وَ اَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِیْرِ(5) وَ لِلَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَؕ-وَ بِئْسَ الْمَصِیْرُ(6) اِذَاۤ اُلْقُوْا فِیْهَا سَمِعُوْا لَهَا شَهِیْقًا وَّ هِیَ تَفُوْرُ(7) تَكَادُ تَمَیَّزُ مِنَ الْغَیْظِؕ-كُلَّمَاۤ اُلْقِیَ فِیْهَا فَوْجٌ سَاَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَاۤ اَلَمْ یَاْتِكُمْ نَذِیْرٌ(8) قَالُوْا بَلٰى قَدْ جَآءَنَا نَذِیْرٌ ﳔ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَ قُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنْ شَیْءٍ ۚۖ-اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا فِیْ ضَلٰلٍ كَبِیْرٍ(9) وَ قَالُوْا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ اَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِیْۤ اَصْحٰبِ السَّعِیْرِ(10) فَاعْتَرَفُوْا بِذَنْۢبِهِمْۚ-فَسُحْقًا لِّاَصْحٰبِ السَّعِیْرِ(11) اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَیْبِ لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَّ اَجْرٌ كَبِیْرٌ(12) وَ اَسِرُّوْا قَوْلَكُمْ اَوِ اجْهَرُوْا بِهٖؕ-اِنَّهٗ عَلِیْمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوْرِ(13) اَلَا یَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَؕ-وَ هُوَ اللَّطِیْفُ الْخَبِیْرُ(14) هُوَ الَّذِیْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَرْضَ ذَلُوْلًا فَامْشُوْا فِیْ مَنَاكِبِهَا وَ كُلُوْا مِنْ رِّزْقِهٖؕ-وَ اِلَیْهِ النُّشُوْرُ(15) ءَاَمِنْتُمْ مَّنْ فِی السَّمَآءِ اَنْ یَّخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الْاَرْضَ فَاِذَا هِیَ تَمُوْرُ(16) اَمْ اَمِنْتُمْ مَّنْ فِی السَّمَآءِ اَنْ یُّرْسِلَ عَلَیْكُمْ حَاصِبًاؕ-فَسَتَعْلَمُوْنَ كَیْفَ نَذِیْرِ(17) وَ لَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَیْفَ كَانَ نَكِیْرِ(18) اَوَ لَمْ یَرَوْا اِلَى الطَّیْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صٰٓفّٰتٍ وَّ یَقْبِضْنَﰉ مَا یُمْسِكُهُنَّ اِلَّا الرَّحْمٰنُؕ-اِنَّهٗ بِكُلِّ شَیْءٍۭ بَصِیْرٌ(19) اَمَّنْ هٰذَا الَّذِیْ هُوَ جُنْدٌ لَّكُمْ یَنْصُرُكُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ الرَّحْمٰنِؕ-اِنِ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ اِلَّا فِیْ غُرُوْرٍ(20) اَمَّنْ هٰذَا الَّذِیْ یَرْزُقُكُمْ اِنْ اَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهٗۚ-بَلْ لَّجُّوْا فِیْ عُتُوٍّ وَّ نُفُوْرٍ(21) اَفَمَنْ یَّمْشِیْ مُكِبًّا عَلٰى وَجْهِهٖۤ اَهْدٰۤى اَمَّنْ یَّمْشِیْ سَوِیًّا عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِیْمٍ(22) قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِیْۤ اَنْشَاَ كُمْ وَ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَ الْاَبْصَارَ وَ الْاَفْـٕدَةَؕ-قَلِیْلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُوْنَ(23) قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِیْ ذَرَاَكُمْ فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ اِلَیْهِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ(24) وَ یَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِیْنَ(25) قُلْ اِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ۪-وَ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنَا نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌ(26) فَلَمَّا رَاَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِیْٓــٴَـتْ وُجُوْهُ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَ قِیْلَ هٰذَا الَّذِیْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَدَّعُوْنَ(27) قُلْ اَرَءَیْتُمْ اِنْ اَهْلَكَنِیَ اللّٰهُ وَ مَنْ مَّعِیَ اَوْ رَحِمَنَاۙ-فَمَنْ یُّجِیْرُ الْكٰفِرِیْنَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ اَلِیْمٍ(28) قُلْ هُوَ الرَّحْمٰنُ اٰمَنَّا بِهٖ وَ عَلَیْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَاۚ-فَسَتَعْلَمُوْنَ مَنْ هُوَ فِیْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِیْنٍ(29) قُلْ اَرَءَیْتُمْ اِنْ اَصْبَحَ مَآؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَنْ یَّاْتِیْكُمْ بِمَآءٍ مَّعِیْنٍ(30) |
Surah Mulk English Translation

| 1 | Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent- |
| 2 | [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving – |
| 3 | [And] who created the seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? |
| 4 | Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. |
| 5 | And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars] and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. |
| 6 | And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. |
| 7 | When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. |
| 8 | It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, “Did there not come to you a warner?” |
| 9 | They will say, “Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, ‘Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'” |
| 10 | And they will say, “If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze.” |
| 11 | And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation1 for the companions of the Blaze. |
| 12 | Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. |
| 13 | And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. |
| 14 | Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Aware? |
| 15 | It is He who made the earth tame for you – so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision – and to Him is the resurrection. |
| 16 | Do you feel secure that He who is above would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway? |
| 17 | Or do you feel secure that He who is above would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning. |
| 18 | And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach. |
| 19 | Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing. |
| 20 | Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion. |
| 21 | Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion. |
| 22 | Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path? |
| 23 | Say, “It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful.” |
| 24 | Say, “It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.” |
| 25 | And they say, “When is this promise, if you should be truthful?” |
| 26 | Say, “The knowledge is only with Allāh, and I am only a clear warner.” |
| 27 | But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, “This is that for which you used to call.” |
| 28 | Say, [O Muḥammad], “Have you considered: whether Allah should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?” |
| 29 | Say, “He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error.” |
| 30 | Say, “Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?” |

| سورہ ملک کا اردو ترجمہ |

بڑی برکت والا ہے وہ جس کے قبضے میں ہی ساری بادشاہی ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر خوب قادر ہے۔ وہ جس نے موت اور زندگی کو پیدا کیا تاکہ تمہاری آزمائش کرے کہ تم میں کون زیادہ اچھے عمل کرنے والا ہے اور وہی بہت عزت والا،بہت بخشش والا ہے۔ وہ جس نے ایک دوسرے کے اوپرسات آسمان بنائے (اے بندے!)تو رحمٰن کے بنانے میں کوئی فرق نہیں دیکھے گا پس تو نگاہ اٹھا کر دیکھ، کیاتجھے کوئی رخنہ نظر آتا ہے؟ پھر دوبارہ نگاہ اٹھا کر دیکھ، نگاہ تیری طرف ناکام ہو کر تھکی ماندی پلٹ آئے گی ۔ اورضرور بیشک ہم نے نیچے کے آسمان کو چراغوں سے آراستہ کیا اور انہیں شیطانوں کو مار بھگانے کا ذریعہ بنایا اور ہم نے ان کے لیے بھڑکتی آگ کا عذاب تیار کررکھا ہے ۔ اور جنہوں نے اپنے رب کے ساتھ کفر کیا ان کے لیے جہنم کا عذاب ہے اور وہ کیا ہی برا ٹھکانہ ہے۔ جب وہ کفار جہنم میں ڈالے جائیں گے تواس کی چنگھاڑسنیں گے اور وہ جوش مار رہی ہو گی ۔ معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ غضب سے پھٹ جائے گی، جب کبھی کوئی گروہ اس میں ڈالا جائے گا تواس کے داروغہ ان سے پوچھیں گے، کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی ڈر سنانے والا نہیں آیا تھا؟ وہ کہیں گے:کیوں نہیں ،بیشک ہمارے پاس ڈر سنانے والے تشریف لائے، پھر ہم نے (انہیں )جھٹلایا اور ہم نے کہا: اللہ نے کوئی چیز نہیں اتاری ، تم تو بڑی گمراہی میں ہی ہو۔ اور وہ کہیں گے: اگر ہم سنتے یا سمجھتے تو دوزخ والوں میں نہ ہوتے۔ تو اب انہوں نے اپنے گناہ کا اقرار کیا تو دوزخیوں کے لیے پھٹکار ہو۔ بیشک جو لوگ بغیر دیکھے اپنے رب سے ڈرتے ہیں ان کے لیے بخشش اور بڑا ثواب ہے۔ اور تم اپنی بات آہستہ کہو یا آواز سے ،بیشک وہ تو دلوں کی بات خوب جانتا ہے۔ کیا جس نے پیدا کیاوہ نہیں جانتا؟ حالانکہ وہی ہر باریکی کو جاننے والا،بڑا خبردار ہے۔ وہی ہے جس نے تمہارے لیے زمین کوتابع کر دیا تو تم اس کے راستوں میں چلو اور اللہ کی روزی میں سے کھاؤ اور اسی کی طرف اٹھنا ہے۔ کیا تم اُس (اللہ ) سے بے خوف ہوگئے جس کی سلطنت آسمان میں ہے اس بات میں کہ وہ تمہیں زمین میں دھنسادے تووہ زمین اچانک کانپنے لگے۔ یا تم اُس سے بے خوف ہوگئے جس کی سلطنت آسمان میں ہے اس بات میں کہ وہ تم پر پتھراؤ بھیجے تو تم جلد جان لو گے کہ میرا ڈراناکیسا تھا۔ ور بیشک ان سے پہلے لوگوں نے جھٹلایا تومیرا انکار کیساہوا ؟ اور کیا انہوں نے اپنے اوپر پر پھیلاتے ہوئے اور سمیٹتے ہوئے پرندے نہ دیکھے، انہیں رحمٰن کے سواکوئی نہیں روکتا،بیشک وہ ہر چیز کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے۔ یا وہ کون سا تمہارا لشکر ہے جو رحمٰن کے مقابلے میں تمہاری مدد کرے گا؟کافر صرف دھوکے میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں ۔ یا کون ایسا ہے جو تمہیں روزی دے اگر اللہ اپنی روزی روک لے بلکہ وہ سرکشی اور نفرت میں ڈھیٹ بن گئے ہیں ۔ تو کیا جو اپنے منہ کے بل اوندھا چلے وہ زیادہ راہ پر ہے یا وہ جو سیدھی راہ پرسیدھا چلے؟ تم فرماؤ: وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں پیدا کیا اور تمہارے لیے کان اور آنکھیں اور دل بنائے، تم بہت کم شکر ادا کرتے ہو۔ تم فرماؤ: وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں زمین میں پھیلایا اور اسی کی طرف تمہیں اکٹھا کیا جائے گا ۔ اوروہ کہتے ہیں : یہ وعدہ کب آئے گا اگر تم سچے ہو(تو بتاؤ)۔ تم فرماؤ: یہ علم تو اللہ ہی کے پاس ہے اور میں تو یہی صاف ڈر سنانے والا ہوں ۔ پھر جب وہ اسے قریب دیکھیں گے توکافروں کے منہ بگڑ جائیں گے اور(ان سے) کہاجائے گا :یہی ہے وہ عذاب جو تم مانگتے تھے۔ تم فرماؤ بھلا دیکھو تو اگر اللہ مجھے اور میرے ساتھ والوں کو ہلاک کردے یا ہم پر رحم فرمائے تو وہ کون ہے جو کافروں کو درد ناک عذاب سے بچالے گا؟ تم فرماؤ: وہی رحمٰن ہے ،ہم اس پر ایمان لائے اور ہم نے اسی پر بھروسہ کیا تو تم جلدجان جاؤ گے کہ کون کھلی گمراہی میں ہے؟ تم فرماؤ: بھلا دیکھو تو اگر صبح کو تمہارا پانی زمین میں دھنس جائے تو وہ کون ہے جو تمہیں نگاہوں کے سامنے بہتاہواپانی لادے؟ |

Hadith About Surah Mulk
In a Hadith regarding Surah Mulk, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ pointed out the benefits of reciting this Surah. As Narrated by Abu Hurairah:
that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Indeed there is a Surah in the Qur’an of thirty Ayat, which intercedes for a man until he is forgiven. It is [Surah] Tabarak Alladhi Biyadihil-Mulk.”
